Cake Decorating
Cold, Car Crashes and Cake Decorating
Well I feel a little better today – not 100%, maybe not even 80%, but certainly not on death’s door. (I may be exaggerating a little bit here).
Yesterday was interesting as on the way home from work, I saw some ASBO wannabes wantonly crash into someone’s car on a roundabout near work and then just drive off. Thankfully though, I got the car’s reg and managed to pass it onto the somewhat freaked out driver of the other car. What total nobs these guys were, probably not insured, probably not even their car. *rage face*
Then when I got in, I had to go to bed for a couple of hours, as I felt destroyed after not getting much sleep the night before – but a lemsip and a kip can do the world of good and I was ready to rock for the 2nd week of my cake decorating course. Last night we started making a baby in a crib for a christening cake, and believe you me, it’s much harder than it looks – especially for beginners. I made a friend as a girl called Heather that started last week, sat next to me and we started chatting. Apropo of nothing, Girls are GREAT at chatting to each other – whether they know them or not.
We had to cover a silver 6″ board in regale ice and crimp the edges. Then we had to colour a small ball of regale ice flesh coloured and make a baby’s head – I struggled. Then we had to make the basic shape of the baby’s cot and put some frills on it. It’s clear that like most things, I will have to master some basic techniques before I can get all fancy pants – but me being me, I am already planning something fancy for Moochy’s birthday!!!
Cooking Class and 5 miler
Today is the final day of my 4 days off and it’s been fab – full of walking and cakes. Actually, I have just come back from a 5 mile training walk with Peggy-dog and it was brill.
I made sure I had my rucksack and a drink and things and off we went. We met some other lovely dog walkers and even a toddler that insisted that he told me he was “going to feed the duckies”. So Cute.
Also on the way back I found out that the police cordon at the top of our street meant that someone had been stabbed
Gawd… how awful. hope he’s ok.
But…. the big news, is that I got a call this morning from the cake decorating class teacher and I start tonight. So excited…. bit nervous of course as it’s something new, but still…it’s going to be fab. xxx
