Lovely Christmas

Well the last time you heard from me I had just finished work for Christmas and was just looking forward to the dentist and a long break from work. Ok well first things first, I did go to the dentist, but I didn’t need a root canal. I have to say, my dentist is very very patient with me and I managed to not only let him examine me without sedation, but I also let him give me a sort of filling onto the tooth that was giving me trouble.

I say “sort of filling” as he just put some more filling material on top of the existing one – but I was still REALLY pleased with my little self. I don’t think Moochy could hardly believe it when I came down the stairs unaided and smiling. Of course, this is the point where I remind you that I normally have to have IV sedation just to have a checkup, which normally knocks me bandy for the whole day (and costs me £90 a pop).

I particularly picked my dentist as their website states that they specificially deal with nervous patients and I have to say they are VERY good at it. I go to Paul Beard at his private practice, but the practice does see NHS patients as well. So if you live anywhere Newton-le-Willows, and aren’t too keen on the dentist… then I can highly recommend him.

But after that, Christmas inevitably arrived and it consisted of  Christmas Eve out at a gorgeous Italian restaurant in Stockton Heath called Piccolinos with Moochy’s family. It was kind of good and bad, as the food and company (once we got there) was good, but the weather was bad for driving and we were late and sometimes this meal adds to the feeling of our Christmas being a little rollercoasterish… I shall explain….

After Christmas eve out, we then spend Christmas day in phases.

Phase 1 — Moochy and  I open our Christmas presents to each other in bed with Peggy dog.

Phase 2 — My mum and dad came around and we all opened our respective presents.

Phase 3 — Mum, dad, Moochy and I all went round to my sisters and then we all opened our respective presents.

Phase 4 — Moochy and I then go up to Widnes and have Christmas lunch/open presents with all of Moochy’s family.

Phase 5 – We come home and relax for an hour before we collapse into bed.

oooo we haven’t finished yet..

Boxing Day

My mum, dad & gran come around and we had lamb stew and lemon curd tart.

27th December (today)

Day of rest – Moochy starts with a cold

28th December (tomorrow)

Moochy’s mum and dad are coming around.

So you can see… it’s a lot of moving around from place to place and sometimes it always feel like we are waiting to go somewhere else.

The only disaster that seems to have beset us over Christmas that was the bath and sink in the bathroom stopped draining and after some investigation and messing around, we figured that it was probably a bit frozen and a bit clogged…. fast forward to today which included higher temperatures, a plunger and a trip to our local hardware shop and it the problems seems to have righted itself. Thank goodness.

Well before I go, I have to tell you that Father Christmas (my family) all got me some very lovely Christmas presents. The included two bags, an apple airport, some unbelievable speaks and some heavenely candles to name but a few…..

We also, as another present, get to go for a spa in a few days… *says no more*. xxx

And Relax

Oh my goodness, today I have finished work for 2010 and have…lets count, erm 15 days off work!!! During this time, there will be the dentist, Christmas Eve meal out, Christmas day stuff, Centre Parcs, the Aqua Sana, New Years Eve and lots of chilling and time off with Moochy and Peggy dog. What could be better?

Well frankly, I could do without the dentist part, but other than that its going to be perfect. I had a small reminder last night that certain things and people have a way of denting your bubble, but if I ignore them and keep my distance, then the total love and warmth that Christmas provides should just wash over me. 8)

I also love Christmas TV, this is the time of year when all channels seem to step their game up and show us lots of what they are really good at. There will of course be re-runs of the Sound of Music and Harry Potter, but I even love those!

The last few weeks have been stressful and I’ve not exactly had a slide downhill towards Christmas, but somehow in the last few days, I seem to have forgotten all the pain. The chamomile like effect of central heating and a couple of weeks of  no alarm clock has had the desired effect and I am getting giddier by the second.

I Love Christmas

Oh my god I love Christmas. One of Moochy’s twitter friends tweeted that he didn’t like Christmas to which Moochy replied “You are doing it wrong!”. :) We are lucky in that we are Christmas soul-mates on top of everything else, we love the whole thing; time off work, decorations, presents, the tree, spending time with the family and generally chillaxing.

As you can see from the pictures, that we have put our decorations (deccys) up today and even though it takes a fair bit of effort on a lazy Sunday, it is WELL worth it as they look beautiful. Our tree is one that my dad bought me for Christmas 2004 so it’s currently having it’s 7th outing and it’s still as good as new. This is of course, down to Moochy as he is fanatical about putting everything away very carefully each year, when I am sure if it was down to me, everything would be a bit wrecked and broken, having been flung in the loft fairly haphazardly.Typical Gillibobs.

I have also been for a run this morning in the new running tights that Moochy got me. Did I tell you about that? Well when I got home from work on Friday, there was a package waiting for Moochy from the sports clothing website Wiggle. Moochy had only gone and ordered me some winter running tights ♥♥♥

He made me cry, what a totally lovely, thoughtful thing to do. I have got a couple of pairs of Ronhill  running tights already, but they are light Summer ones. So on a frozzy run on Tuesday night, I had to “double bag” and wear two pairs. So in steps my Prince Charming with thoughful gift…. *hugs him*.

On a slightly different topic, Moochy and I have both just agreed that we have already “broken up” for Christmas. It’s a pity we have got almost 3 weeks to go…… oh well. ;)
