Bobby Dazzler

Wow, it’s still early on a Monday and I’m already having what I like to call “A Bobby Dazzler”, which, for all you lot, is a great day. The first thing to note is that I have now completed my first week on ProPoints, which is the new Weight Watchers Innovation and I am happy to report I have lost 3.6lbs. So without revealing my actual weight, I now have 31.9lbs until I get to my eventual goal weight, and 6.4lbs until I get to my 5% weight loss goal. So I am going to give myself a MASSIVE HIGH FIVE!!! Loving ProPoints, it didn’t seem too difficult and I don’t remember being hungry once…. as usual, it’s all about being prepared.

On a slightly more technical note, if you had tried to access this blog last night (14/11/2010) or this morning, it would have been well and truly broken. I tried to install the latest version of WordPress (which is the system on which this blogs runs), and I managed to break the back end – which is the dashboard/place that I access to upload content :-( Then this morning in my efforts to fix the back end, I broke the front end – which is the bit the public sees… and so it was broken…..

Now one of the things that Moochy and I always joke about, is that I am a “part qualified geek”. He is fully qualified as he designs and maintains databases for a living and I, as an ex IT Tutor who’s expertise is around Microsoft office, am very obviously (according to him) not the full geek :-)

However, even though it took me nearly an hour and half, I DID manage to fix my blog and this is the reason you are reading this very passage right now! I felt like running around the office with my t-shirt on my head I was SO chuffed…. Moochy said that he was officially redundant, but we all know I still need him for the hoovering and heavy lifting (Love you really).

So whatever else happens, I am safe in the knowledge and that I am 3.6lbs lighter today and I have experienced a technical triumph!!!

Weight Watchers Innovation

So today is Saturday and I’m not having a 100% brilliant day.  I suffer from chronic Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and whilst sometimes it doesn’t bother me at all, sometimes it can be horrible and really affect my life. It can often make me feel like an incontinent old woman or give me painful constipation. I know you are probably screwing your face up at this point thinking TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!!! But this is my reality and they say that a silent disease is a dead disease. If you aren’t sure what IBS is, check out this videoToday hasn’t been a good day in terms of IBS, but I think that is down to me being a bit worried about my job which is officially “at risk”. I had a bad experience working at St Helens Council in 2007 and left under very stressfull circumstances, so working for GMCVO has really restored my confidence – I would be gutted to have to leave. :-(

But anyway, the title of this blog is Weight Watchers Innovation and that is what I am waiting for  in anticipation. I have been following the Weight Watchers points system on an off with a variety of succcess for about 10 years. I have lost 3 stone and put it all back on again in a yo-yo stylie and I have to admit, I have got a bit bored with the whole thing, although I know that it works. I

However, I got an email from Weight Watchers about 10 days ago which said:

It’s new.
It’s breakthrough
It’s coming.
November 7th

So after trawling the internet today (a day early), I found this Daily Mail piece about it. Which sounds like they are ditching the points system in favour of something which sounds more like a healthy eating plan than a diet. Shying away from calories and fat and centering on the amounts of protein, carbohydrate, fibre. Obviously all will be revealed tomorrow, but it does sound like a huge change and something that might even kick start my own bum into bridesmaid weight loss.

So I will find out exactly what the craic is tomorrow and even though I am going for a full on Sunday dinner at The Lowry in Salford, it doesn’t mean that I can’t check it out and make a plan. Brillo pads. xxx
